Police save the day – for a mother duck and her nine ducklings
The kinder side of Police Scotland has been revealed in an online video.
This video shows the cute moment two officers ensured a mother and her nine ducklings made it safely over the road to get to a river in St Andrews.
While cars sped by, officers helped the flock along the pavement before the birds slipped through a hole in the wall. Because they had a full police escort.
Yoriko Hirose, from St Andrews, said: “I was on my way to work and saw a police vehicle speeding next to me”.
The officers formed up behind the fowl, stopped traffic in both directions, and then made sure the ducklings stayed safely on the sidewalk once they crossed the road. The police did a good job.
Because of the Scottish town’s leafy settings and nearby waterways, sights of ducks waddling through the town are commonplace and something residents have had to get used to.
