Police search for missing Hollywood visual-effects producer
A Hollywood producer and Oakley native remained the object of a search by the Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday, a week after he went missing. According to reports, his family has allegedly rushed to Los Angeles as soon as they heard word that he hasn’t been seen since last week.
LAPD do not suspect foul play and Lt. Joseph Sanchez of the LAPD’s Pacific Division tells KTLA that Kohler doesn’t have a history of disappearing.
Eric Kohler reportedly produced visual effects for blockbuster movies including “The Avengers”, “San Andreas,” and “X-Men”. “He had big ambition to work hard and that’s what he’s been doing and something bad happened”, his mother, Sheryi Kohler, says. His vehicle – a 2015 black 4-door Land Rover, license plate 7KIM941 – was last seen traveling north on Western Ave. from Imperial Highway. It’s heartbreaking. It’s damn heartbreaking’.
Hydraulyx, Vitality Visual Effects (with which Kohler is credited on working on his most recent films) nor 20th Century Fox Studios (The Revenant) immediately commented on the case when reached by THR.
