Police searching for bank robber disguised as Rick James

Rick James once told the New York Times that he had “always been a free spirit, and always gotten what [he] wanted”.

One creative bank robber in Indianapolis hopes to go from “I’m Rick James, bitch!” to “I’m rich, bitch!”

Police in the U.S. are on the look-out for a man alleged to have robbed a bank dressed as late R&B musician Rick James. Witnesses say that two African American men entered the bank brandishing handguns and wearing elaborate disguises. The suspects ran in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.

Both men are still at large.

“Suspect #2 had long hair (dreads), all black clothing, 5’8″ – 5’10”, armed.

The second suspect – who has been likened to fictional drug dealer Youngblood Priest from 1970s movie “Super Fly” – was also wearing a wig, with a gray Indianapolis Colts hat and sunglasses. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is now asking for the public’s help in the hunt for the suspects. Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
