Police Seek Brooklyn Family Who Locked Baby in Hotel Safe
The Niagara Regional Police is investigating a matter involving an infant being found locked in a safe at a hotel in Niagara Falls.
It took maintenance workers approximately 20 minutes to free the baby.
He said the family left the hotel before police had been alerted, but that might have been because they were scheduled to travel – and not because they’d fled. Amanda Sanders said. “But that’s why we want to reach the family, to find out what happened and make sure the baby is OK”.
There’s no information on how the child ended up inside the safe. The family is now being sought to check on the welfare of the child.
Police have also alerted border patrol officers and local hospitals in their search for the U.S. family. All they know was that the family was from Brooklyn.
The hotel room registered to a person from Brooklyn, New York. The couple reportedly was driving a 2015 gray Ford passenger van with New Jersey plates B31EUB.
An investigator remains at the hotel.
Kraushar described the safe as “a floor safe, not your typical hotel room safe” and said it was at least 1 foot by 1 foot.
“Not your traditionally big enough for a wallet safe … it was significantly larger”.
