Police Seek Suspect Who Committed Lewd Act at Church

Cambridge police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly broke into a church, dressed in a priest’s robe, and apparently masturbated on the altar.

According to Cambridge Police, a white man in his 20’s with glasses entered St. Sava Serbian Church in Cambridge on Tuesday, September 29 around 3:15 a.m.

“He stripped himself down to being naked and then performed a sexual act on the altar stage”, Cambridge police spokesman Jeremy Warnick said.

The church has security cameras and captured the incident on video.

Church board member Alexander Pogorzelski says the man also sat in the priest’s and bishop’s chair and left behind a mess of soda and wine.

“It’s a violation in many ways”.
