Police will not investigate Jahlil Okafor for fight with Boston man

Boston police said they are investigating an alleged fight involving Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor. But Kenneally says the participants were gone by the time officers arrived and nobody was arrested or charged.

Other reports suggest that the National Basketball Association player was actually infuriated by someone screaming, “the 76ers suck”, at Okafor. “You’ll never win a game, ‘” the source told ESPN.

“Personally, it is just what I was hoping would happen”, Clifford said before Wednesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. I’m not excusing him from what he did after the loss either. The Sixers post player showed remorse for the incident, going as far as saying that he is embarrassed over the ordeal and the aftermath of it grabbing so much attention. But at least for now, he seems safe from getting into any legal trouble because of it.

“It was definitely dumb on my part”, he told reporters after a team shootaround on Friday.

“The embarrassment of what I did because that’s not who I am”, Okafor said. Still dealing with the league and the team but I’m not happy about it all.

A brawl ensues. Witnesses tried to hold Okafor back, but he was able to break free and swung wildly at another man that sent him hard to the ground.

The Sixers also lost 26 in a row last season, starting 0-17.

With nearly three minutes left in the game against the Celtics, Okafor made a three-point play to give the 76ers an 80-75 lead. The Philly franchise has started 0-16 and is on a 26 game losing streak dating to last season.

A heckler pointed a gun at Okafor’s head following a verbal exchange in October at a Philadelphia club, the Inquirer reported, citing five sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“We are aware of the report and we are now working to gather additional information”, the Sixers said in a statement. Along with the tough start, the 76ers now may be without their first-round pick from April if the league decides to suspend Okafor for the incident.
