Poodlecorp DDOS takes EA, Blizzard servers down
The Battlefield 1 beta kicked off yesterday, but it was plagued by server issues caused by a reported DDoS attack.
This tweet was sent just a mere few hours after Battlefield 1’s beta launched as well as more about an hour after PoodleCorp’s tweet.
The company’s online services have reportedly been targeted and brought down by a DDOS attack.
Keep an eye on the EA support Twitter account for the latest updates should the servers start to struggle again.
With all of this happening, Battlefield fans have been left with staggering servers in a time where they wanted to check out the 64-player beta today. Many players who are trying to connect to the open-multiplayer beta servers are being greeted with the screen shared below.
A group styling itself PoodleCorp on Twitter claimed responsibility for the attack, though its supposed involvement hasn’t been independently confirmed.
According to a later post this evening, “Battlefield is no longer being attacked”. “EA is now experiencing an outage”.
We are now monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games.
