Pope fans should expect long walk from New Jersey

No other fares, including monthly passes, Family SuperSaver or cash, will be accepted on those two lines.
As many as 2 million people could attend the public Mass on Sunday, September 27, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Officials expect 50 percent to arrive by auto and approximately 10,000 charter buses to bring people to the event.
David Beach, special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Philadelphia office, said agents are contacting people who live within the security zones, but would not say whether residents would be asked to leave while fencing is built.
Cigar customer Tom Fitzpatrick said his wife and he are discussing either staying home in the Overbrook Farms section of the city and then sticking to travel in nearby Main Line or possibly going away for the weekend due to disruptions.
The trains will not stop at Absecon, Egg Harbor City, Hammonton, Atco, Lindenwold, Cherry Hill, and Pennsauken. Buses will run for those needing to travel to any of the stations between Atlantic City and Philadelphia.
NJDOT Director of Traffic Operations Sal Cowan also warned that “if traffic heading to Camden becomes significantly over crowded and stopped traffic extends back onto [Interstate] 295, New Jersey Department of Transportation and its law enforcement partners will take steps to temporarily block ramps leading to these roads in order to meter the traffic and prevent lines of stopped traffic on our interstate that could create serious rear-end crashes”. Access Link, the paratransit bus service, will be suspended to and from Philadelphia from September 25 through September 28. Service will resume on Tuesday, September 29.
Given the possibility that not all buses will have registered and be able to find parking spots in Camden, officials said it was conceivable that they would have to park outside Camden, adding to the distance people would have to walk. No special tickets will be needed.
Bicycles will not be allowed on NJ Transit vehicles during the Papal visit. River Line trains between Trenton and Camden will run every 15 minutes with limited stops; buses will be added to fill in gaps.
Enhanced service will be provided on Route 554 from Atlantic City to Lindenwold.
