Pope Francis tosses script and lifts up families
Wahlberg served as master of ceremonies at the Vatican-sponsored event, billed the Festival of Families, where the Pope delivered a sermon on the importance of the family to the thousands of faithful in attendance. “A society is strong, it’s solid if it’s edified on beauty, goodness and truth”. Children cause headaches. I won’t speak of mother-in-laws.
Speaking to Pope Francis, he went on: ‘Holy Father, please forgive me.
In his first leg of his journey, the Pope addressed a joint session of Congress and met briefly with President Obama in Washington, D.C. While in New York City, Pope Francis spoke to the United Nations and met with school children in Harlem. “I need to put in more effort and to remember love is the base of everything”, said Hoffman, who lives outside Philadelphia.
Patrick Moiani, a 26-year-old audiovisual service technician who attended the event with his brother, sister-in-law and nephew, said it was clear from the way the crowd cheered that the Pope’s message reached his audience.
“But those difficulties are overcome with love”, he added, concluding: “Never let the day end without making peace”. “However, in families, there is always light” because of the love of God’s son.
“That right there was truly the voice of an angel”, Wahlberg said after Hill’s performance. “Hatred is not capable of dealing (with) or overcoming any difficulty”. Again diagnosing, he pointed toward a culture of discouragement in which young people “have yielded to a form of unconscious acquiescence”, a paralysis toward challenges before them, and delay marriage “waiting for ideal conditions”. “They pass on the faith; they transmitted the faith to us”. “Grandparents are the living memory of the family, they passed on the faith to us – to look after grandparents and children is the expression of love”. But he said that the pope’s visit was good for everyone.
