Possible FIU foot sniffer taken into custody in southwest Miami-Dade
The man wanted for allegedly sniffing women’s feet on the FIU campus has been detained.
Students at Florida global University in Miami have been warned to be on the lookout for the man who has been seen hiding under tables at the university library and smelling women’s feet without their knowledge. He had been caught in the act in photos.
FIU spokeswoman Dianne Fernandez said nobody was hurt and there have been no other reports. No one was injured in the one incident, but some ladies said they’re going to make sure to look down when they’re studying in the library. “Police say he appears to be in his late 40s to early 50s, weighs about 200 lbs., is 5′ 8” to 6′ tall and has bald or very short grey hair and a goatee. He was last seen driving a scooter.
“Although some may consider this to be humorous or insignificant, the FIUPD takes these reports seriously and continues to investigate the matter”, the FIU Police Department said in a statement. FIUPD would like to remind the University community to report any suspicious behavior to the department at 305-348-2626.
Campus police were notified following the incident in August that took place at the Green Library on FIU’s main campus in southwest Miami-Dade, WSVN-Ch.
