Power down for Earth Hour Saturday evening
Millions of people in over 170 countries and territories are set to participate as homes, hotels, businesses, universities and landmarks will turn off their lights at 8:30 p.m. local time for one hour.
“Earth hour” is a movement organized by World Wide Fund for Nature.
Okay, so it’s not as dramatic as that, but there will be tons of lights going out in honor of “Earth Hour”.

The Earth Hour 2017 India event will be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Akshardham Temple, India Gate, Charminar, Golconda Fort, Secretariat (Assam), Agra Fort, Guwahati High Court and much more. Participants of the Earth Hour fun run are given reflectorized caps and there is also a dedicated candlelight display, proving that Dubai is definitely into the spirit of making the world a greener place.

During the hour, maintenance engineers will be taking meter readings to determine electricity savings, comparing usage with the same time period last week. People need to be aware that this is our planet and we should do our part each day, a little of reuse-recycle-reduce is a start good enough to make great environmental changes!
