Power fan could face life ban after racist incident at Showdown
PORT ADELAIDE’S chairman David Koch says the Power will ban the member who threw a projectile towards Crows players on Saturday night for the entirety of the 2017 season.
Port fans have taken to social media to vent their disgust at the woman’s behaviour, with one supporter, who was sitting near the alleged incident, claiming: ‘All year we’ve had to put up with her foul mouth dropping C bombs etc in front of our kids.

Port Adelaide have banned her “indefinitely” after deciding her actions breached their code of conduct.
The video, which surfaced on social media on Saturday night, shows a woman in a Port Adelaide scarf waving her middle finger at Betts before throwing the object in his direction as he celebrated a goal in the forward pocket at Adelaide Oval.
A Crows statement from chief executive Andrew Fagan said: “There is no place in our game or society for such abhorrent behaviour”.
The club said it would meet with the woman and offer her a chance to take part in the club’s Aboriginal cultural awareness programs, pointing out her act was completely at odds with its embrace of Aboriginal players and culture.
SA premier Mr Weatherill said he and most other football fans at the game were impressed with Betts’s performance, while condemning the actions of the unruly fan.
“Port Adelaide is appalled by the vision”, the statement said.

On Sunday morning, the Crows labeled the actions of some fans at the game as disgusting and said that it was disappointed by what had occurred.
“The connotations it invokes, it’s such a sad thing for the AFL”.
