Power Rangers Has Found Its Pink Ranger
Naomi Scott will suit up as the character, with the announcement coming from the official Power Rangers Instagram account.
Lionsgate’s Power Rangers movie is based on the ’90sTV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which first aired on Fox Kids using footage from the Japanese children’s show. Lionsgate is reportedly looking at unknowns for the central cast with the aim of casting a bigger name in the role of the antagonist. Let us know and as a fan of Power Rangers I like this news. Original creator Haim Saban is acting as producer along with Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.
And if Scott looks familiar to you, you probably recognize her from the Disney Channel’s most underrated DCOM, “Lemonade Mouth”.
The Power Rangers movie was originally expected to be completed by summer of 2016, but it has now been pushed back to January 2017. The series would continue with new teens and a new subtitle ever season.
The Power Rangers TV series has been running in various forms for over two decades now, so it should be interesting to see how the studio is planning to reboot it for the big screen.
According to Variety, sources shared that a few up-and-coming actors are being tested out for the Ranger roles of Jason as the Red Ranger, Zack as the Black Ranger and Kimberly as the Pink Ranger. No matter who gets cast, it seems apparent that Hollywood wants to move a little bit of summer fun into the winter.
