Power rankings: Wyndham Championship

“But you have to give yourself that opportunity, and I haven’t given myself that opportunity in the last few majors”, added Woods, whose pursuit of Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 major titles has remained stalled since his 2008 US Open win.
“I hit it good enough to be where I needed to be, but I putted very bad”, he said.
If he can’t figure out the test that is Sedgefield Country Club and topple the field in the Wyndham Championship, Woods will have seven weeks to study and fine-tune his game to get ready for the PGA Tour’s class of 2015-16.
The Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield starting on Thursday is the last event before the four-event PGA Tour playoffs and Woods, 187th in the standings, needs to win in Greensboro to qualify. Woods figured he’d be back home in Florida in time to do what most golf fans were planning to do – watch the leaders tee off. “I’ll go into tomorrow strictly for the history piece of trying to get my name on a different major”.
It is the fourth time in just 10 events this season that Woods has not played all four rounds, and at 278th in the world rankings, he will edge closer to dropping outside the top 300.
Already a victor this year, Koepka battled injury soon-after his triumph at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February, but looks healthy now and is playing some of the best golf of his young career. This event has produced some nice long shot winners as of late, which is good news for us bettors.
“Now I’ll go back to the hotel, and probably take a nap, two breakfasts, three lunches, a warm-up”.
“The confidence is growing quickly”, he said.
“I played ball with him in the rec league”, said Gary Hill, Wyndham Spectator.
The reigning FedEx Cup champion will be desperate to get back to top form ahead of the forthcoming Playoffs and there’s been plenty to indicate that he’s not far away, including another solid week at Whistling Straits where he just faded a little on Sunday. His best finish was a tie for 17th at the Masters. The point is that Spieth, Day and others have rejuvenated pro golf this year, and they should have some staying power.
Even after another disappointing day at the PGA Championship – where his sand wedge replaced his putter as the main player in his nightmare – Woods committed to playing next week in the Wyndham Championship, giving him one more chance to squeak into the FedEx Cup playoffs. So his season is done and dusted by the second week of August. The only way you can do that is by playing, I have a lot of golf to be played around the world. Woods will miss the cut for the third straight time in a major.
“And then I just need to do both at the same time”. I haven’t put together ball striking and putting.
