Powerball Jackpot Hits $1.5 Billion, $8 Million Contributed To Arkansas

The world’s largest lottery jackpot has grown to $1.5 billion because of continuing strong Powerball ticket sales. Billboards throughout the country aren’t made to show a billion jackpot, so many just read $999 million.

Forty-four US states take part in the Powerball along with the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. No players have correctly selected the six numbers required to win the jackpot in the last 19 drawings dating back to November 11.

Lottery officials say this history-making Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed sales statewide to $155.8 million for drawings leading up to and including Saturday’s record jackpot drawing. The current amount has a cash value of $930.

Players who want the chance to become Florida’s eleventh POWERBALL jackpot victor can purchase their tickets at any of the more than 13,000 Lottery retailers across the state.

Tuesday morning, the Jackpot went from $1.4-billion to $1.5-billion.

There’s no reasonable way to make a Powerball ticket a good investment. “If you are planning to play, remember that tickets will be sold in Pennsylvania until 9:59 p.m. on Wednesday evening”. The tickets were sold at a Pilot Travel Center in Dexter, a Speedway gas station in Holland and a Meijer store in Rochester Hills, WDIV reported.
