PowerBall jackpot reaches $300 million
Tickets are $2 each at lottery retailers around the state. You can’t win if you don’t play! If no one matches all six numbers, the jackpot value will increase for Saturday’s Powerball drawing.
Powerball tickets are sold in forty-four states, plus Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The next Powerball drawing will be held on Wednesday, December 30.
Tickets may be purchased up until 9:59 p.m. Wednesday for the $300 million drawing, which airs on NewsChannel 3 Tonight on WSAZ.
Players can select their own numbers using a Powerball playslip, or they can opt for computer-selected quick picks.
“We would love to see someone from West Virginia usher in the new year as a Powerball jackpot victor”, Acting Lottery Director John Myers said in a release.
Of course, winning the lottery means paying taxes on your prize. Each entry to the Powerball costs $2 and the Power Play option costs an additional $1 per line.
The group plans to split the jackpot evenly, the lottery says.
