Powerball jackpot soars to $450 million

People share the variety of ways they would spend the Powerball jackpot if they pick the lucky numbers.

This is the sixth largest jackpot of any U.S. lottery game on record and the fourth largest Powerball jackpot.

But estimates for Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot have reached $450 million, according to Maine State Lottery.

The last time Powerball had grown this large was in February 2015, when three winners split a $564.1 million prize. “We are just everyday people who have worked hard all our life…We just happened to hit it big”, Merle said. “The answers are fun… check them out”, she added. For the winning numbers, five white balls are drawn from the first machine and the Powerball from the second machine.

The third victor is still unknown.

When picking lotto numbers, some players have a system: Birthdays, alphanumeric words, or the uniform numbers of their favorite players.

Two identical machines are used for each drawing and randomly selected from four sets. “I’m going to die and it’s going to be there”.

The Pennsylvania Lottery advises players to purchase their Powerball tickets early to avoid any last-minute rush and to always play responsibly. At least one of those winners is from West Michigan. “I feel like that if I’m the last one to buy, maybe I get the win”.

Jason Vinson made sure to buy his ticket too.

He buys $5 or $6 of lottery tickets a day – usually the twice-a-week Florida Lotto or twice-a-day Cash 3, both of which have better chances of winning.

The top prize been growing since Nov 4, with no victor in 17 drawings, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.
