PP iOS 8.4 OS X Released – Follow These Steps to Jailbreak
However, TaiG team still hasn’t released the OS X version of the JB tool.
However, this time around, PP is the one releasing a Mac jailbreak tool for iOS 8.4. This concern was short-lived though, as jailbreak developers confirmed that their exploits that were developed for iOS 8.3 were still working in the new firmware update.
To perform the jailbreak process, the user must first download the jailbreak file, according to which software the user’s computer is running.
In any case, stolen or not stolen, PP’s new jailbreak tool for Mac works great, and Mac users can finally jailbreak their devices on iOS 8.4 without needing a Windows computer, so without further ado, here’s how to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on Mac. Unfortunately, it appears as though 8.4.1 may patch the current iOS 8.4 jailbreak, meaning it likely won’t be possible to jailbreak 8.4.1 untethered with TaiG – truly sad news for jailbreak fans.
Apple seems to want to give users a reason not to jailbreak their iOS devices anymore by incorporating the tweaks and apps, but on the other hand, the company does get feedback and learns a lot about what its users want in their OS via the jailbreak tweaks that are done to it. Examples of tweaks and apps that are possibly going to be incorporated are proactivity, picture-in-picture video, and low-power mode among others.
Launch PP Jailbreak tool from the Apps folder, it should detect your iOS device.
On your iOS device (NOT connected with your Mac yet), go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone.
Turn off Passcode and Find my Phone.
Now connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch 5g with your Mac. PP also released a Mac jailbreak tool for iOS 8.1 earlier this year.
Click on the Jailbreak button, read instructions and press Continue.
Jailbreak process will start; sit patiently and sip on some coffee.
Ta da! Don’t forget to update Cydia to the very latest version (link).
Once the process is completed successfully, you will see Jailbreak succeeded! message. Once it’s done, your iOS device will reboot and you will be taken to the Setup page. If you are on the TaiG’s side, however, use the following guides.
