Presenting you the Samsung Galaxy S8 a month before it launches
However, we are not sure when Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy X. Previous rumours indicated it would be released in the third quarter of 2017 to clash with arch-rival Apple’s anniversary mobile iPhone X (aka iPhone 8).
Samsung, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, had no device of its own to show at the week-long Mobile World Congress, the phone industry’s largest annual trade fair, in Barcelona in northeastern Spain, its usual showcase.
This is what a phone looks like… until 03.29.2017. “It has a stunning camera, stunning display”. It’s hard to say which one is better at this point, as LG’s dual-camera may pose a competition to Samsung, which is better at installing some of the best smartphone cameras. The clarity is incredible, the colors are bold and vivid, and the contrast is as close to flawless as I’ve seen. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC which includes 2 cores at 2.15GHz and 2 cores at 1.6GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. It’s smaller, it’s more efficient, and it’s more powerful than its predecessor. It’s a feature that is already available to users of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.
LG also redesigned the phone’s interior to separate the two main sources of heat – the main processor and the display driver – and turned other components into heat sinks to dissipate heat.
Both the G6’s 5-megapixel front camera and 13-megapixel main camera will feature a wide angle lens, with the back camera slightly broader at 125 degrees versus the selfie cam’s 100 degree lens. The tipster behind the photo is the usually reliable Evan Blass, who captioned the image on Twitter with the words “I think this is what you’ve been waiting for”. Allegedly, the massive model will have a 3,750 mAh battery. The round corners look sharper in comparison with the ones used on LG G6. In the meantime, pricing and a release date should be announced very soon by LG’s carrier partners in the US.
The Samsung brand may have been damaged by the Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery fiasco, but despite the bad press the South Korean tech giant got, its other phones managed to impress tech experts.
The device’s overall design has remained intact on the Galaxy S7 edge and now-recalled Galaxy Note 7, and is expected to continue with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
