President Buhari Fires Permanent Secretaries
In addition to other non-executive appointments, Isa-Dutse now sits on the boards of Access Bank Plc and Northern Nigeria Flour Mills Plc as a non-executive director.
PM News learnt that a few of the Permanent Secretaries affected include that of Health, Power, Petroleum, Finance, Defence, Housing, Transport and Urban Development and Special Duties.
The source state that the new head of service is low in the hierarchy of the permanent secretaries and the retirement of her seniors was meant to avoid any awkward situation in which they will have to be taking orders from her.
In the same vein, the information, culture, national orientation and tourism ministries have been collapsed into one Ministry of Information and Culture while the Ministries of Sports as well as Youth Development have also been merged to form the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
The President made the development known to the permanent secretaries during a meeting in his office at the Presidential Villa.
Adesina said in the statement that the appointments and deployments were with effect from yesterday, November 10, 2015.
At least 17 permanent secretaries, The Nation gathered, will be affected in the exercise, geared toward strengthening the civil service.
At the meeting were Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
The president had earlier received and met privately with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
