President Elect Donald Trump heads to Washington D.C. Thursday
The inauguration of Donald Trump, highlight of several days of pomp in the United States capital, will begin on Thursday in Washington DC’s Lincoln Memorial at 10.35 am local time with “Voices of the People” -the first act of a day-long public concert. He said the group still has bus spots remaining for this year’s Trump inauguration. Living former presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter will also be there.
Carrier will join 13 other residents from the Twin City area in D.C. She last saw Trump on August 10, when the then-candidate made a stop in Abingdon, Virginia. The Armed Services Ball will also take place.
As recently as last week, Trump bragged about how his inauguration would be “very, very special, very beautiful” with “massive crowds”.
They plan to arrive in Washington today.
According to NBC, the National Park Service has dolled out 22 permits for freedom of speech events taking place over inauguration week on land belonging to the park service. DNA had earlier reported that several A-listers such as Elton John, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce have declined attending the ceremony.
