President Obama Got Hype for His Convention Speech With Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’
He named Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost?” as his favorite song from 2015, and before he took the stage at the Democratic National Convention last week, he got pumped up by listening to another rapper’s energetic, driven track.
In a behind-the-scenes video released by Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Obama was caught bobbing his head to the 8 Mile classic before stepping onto the stage.
The president can be seen rocking out to the lyrics “Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity”, as his aides grin behind him.
In another segment, the president chats with former president Bill Clinton and apologizes for saying that Hillary Clinton was more qualified than either of them, saying that he hopes Bill wasn’t offended by the remark.
See the video above and skip to the 58-second mark to see Obama hyping himself up.
“I loved it. You kidding?”
“You should be so proud of her”, Obama tells Bill Clinton after his speech.
Maybe one day we’ll get Obama lipsyncing the whole song on Ellen. “All right, let’s go win an election”. Just listen for the crowd’s roar when Hillary Clinton walks out to hug President Obama after his speech.
