President Trump slams ‘total hypocrite’ Schumer for past meetings with Putin
Democrat Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer continues to push the Russian Federation conspiracy.
“We should start an immediate investigation into @SenSchumer and his ties to Russian Federation and Putin”.
He added: “Would you & your team?”
Schumer on Thursday said “it would be better for the country” if Sessions resigned after the revelation he met twice with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Since U.S. intelligence agencies concluded last October that Russian Federation had interfered in the U.S. presidential election, a flurry of news reports and leaks has raised more questions than answers about the growing national controversy.
Trump has called any developments about links between Russian Federation and his campaign officials a “total witch hunt”.
Mr Trump also took aim at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Friday, who was among the first to call for Mr Sessions to resign.
“Leader Pelosi’s answer to the question today was clearly about private, one-on-one meetings, which she has never had with Ambassador Kislyak”.
Several hours later, Trump tweeted the same picture saying Schumer’s ties to Putin should be investigated and called the senator a “total hypocrite”.
Several Trump aides had longstanding business links to Russian Federation or Moscow-backed Ukrainian politicians, including his campaign manager Paul Manafort who resigned last August under scrutiny over the issue.
Hill will be under strong pressure not only to formulate an answer to Putin’s aggression against the United States, but in bridging Trump’s solicitousness toward Putin and the intense suspicion of the Russian president within Congress, the intelligence agencies and the military. Putin was at the gas station for about 10 minutes for the coffee and doughnut moment.
Mattis sought to reassure North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies during a visit to Europe last month, telling them there would be no military cooperation between the United States and Russian Federation in the near future. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security formally accuse Russian Federation of attempting to interfere in the election by hacking DNC computers and leaking information. It would be another five years before the 2008 war in Georgia began to decidedly sour relations – and the 2014 Ukraine conflict to send them into free fall. Hill was a national intelligence officer for Russian Federation and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council, serving under both George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
Schumer criticized the president late that month in an emotional news conference denouncing an executive order on immigration signed by Trump that caused chaos at the nation’s airports. And, a short time later, he posted a follow-up in which he further poked fun at the photo, noting “And for the record, they were Krispy Kreme donuts”.
