Prices for Acura NSX supercar start at $156000
Earlier Friday, Acura went ahead and dropped final pricing on the 2017 Acura NSX and with a base price of 6,000, it’s got the likes of the new Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi R8 and the Ferrari 488 GTB aimed squarely in its crosshairs. NSX shoppers will even be able to elect to visit the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, to watch their auto being assembled.
The Acura Super Bowl 50 Ad will feature the most expensive vehicle ever advertised in a Super Bowl commercial.
Jon Ikeda, Acura’s new general manager, says the Acura Precision Concept will have “unmistakable striking proportion and attitude”, reflective of the brand’s performance attributes.
Acura’s long-awaited NSX hybrid supercar looks like an exotic, drives like an exotic, and as we now know, will be priced like an exotic, as well.
“It will be available for purchase by anyone – by anyone, that is, who submits the highest bid for the very first production NSX VIN No. 001”, Ikeda said. Acura will split the proceeds between the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground, which serves children with behavioral or socio-economic challenges.
The 2017 NSX has been first revealed to the public at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. The build-to-order hybrid supercar will be offered with a choice of eight exterior paints and four interior color schemes that will come in three different seating surfaces. There’s also a carbon ceramic brake kit available, along with a carbon fiber roof, and a carbon fiber interior sport package. Honda’s luxury arm isn’t quite ready to show us the replacements to the TLX and ILX yet, but it is promising a hint of what we might expect with a concept vehicle pencilled in for the North American International Auto Show in January.
