‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ Unleashes Action-Packed Teaser
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies arrives in United Kingdom cinemas on 12 February 2016 and we are determined to be the first through the doors. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s book cover, the poster also features a rather telling quote from the novel: “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains”.
Starring Cinderella’s Lily James as Elizabeth Bennet, expect corsets and entrails…an very bad lot of entrails in this bloody-stained horror romp.
The film is directed and written by Burr Steers, who also helmed “17 Again” and “Charlie St. Cloud” and wrote the screenplays for “Igby Goes Down” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”. “I’ve loved Pride and Prejudice since I first read it as a sixteen-year-old, and it was a joy to immerse myself in its world of clever repartee, wise social insights, and swoony romance”. “The movie’s big wink is that there is no big wink”.
We’ve already seen the passable movie of Abe Lincoln felling Vampires left and right and this bastardising of an English classic continues the collision of genres. The actress had this to say. “She’s the most badass zombie slayer there is”.
“You’re not going to improve Jane Austen…”
PAPAZ (great abbreviation…) stars Matt Smith, Lily James and the ever-dreamy Douglas Booth!
