Prince George’s spirits were flying high at royal air show
This was the first official engagement in the United Kingdom for the three-year-old Prince George.
Meanwhile, Andy Armstrong, Chief Executive of RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises, thanked the Duke and Duchess for attending.
“The Duke said he missed flying, he wishes he could fly more and he said he was envious of me”.
Ben and Jake Southern were treated to a thrilling flight in the RAF’s elite Red Arrows after jointly winning Best Male Air Cadet in South West England.
They walked around the site and visited two other planes, which the Prince fancied even more. The Air Tattoo is strongly linked to the Air Cadets and will host official celebrations in honour of the cadets 75th anniversary.
“But meeting Prince George was fantastic – he seemed really interested in the aircraft”.
“He said, ‘Thank you.’ He was very sweet”.
Among the attendees was Air Officer for Wales, Air Commodore Adrian Williams and the Commandant of the Air Cadets Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty.
“I never thought I’d be in this position before joining the Air Cadets”.
The royal family took Prince George to new heights this week. It was only the second time in history the Air Cadets have flown with the Red Arrows.
The UK’s Royal Air Force and Royal Navy have planned to acquire 138 models of the much talked about F-35B Lightning IIs from Lockheed Martin by 2018. This is the first royal engagement for the toddler.
“Taking a closer look @rafredarrows Red Arrow Hawk, which will take part in the @airtattoo later”, the palace revealed.
The young royal then found himself in a Royal Air Force (RAF) Red Arrow Hawk fighter jet, handling the aircraft along with his equally aviation-obsessed father.
