Prince Harry falls from his pony TWICE during annual fundraising polo match
The 31-year-old royal fell from his horse during the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup in Paarl, South Africa over the weekend and still managed to pull it off in style – twice.
Prince Harry handed over the gold medallion on behalf of the Queen in Cape Town on Monday morning. A fellow player later mimicked him, falling off his pony too in a whatever-the-Prince-wants-we-do moment. He got back up but got thrown out of his saddle once again toward the end of the match.
The royal first staged a fundraising polo match in aid of Sentebale in 2010 and the event, which has been staged in the UK, America, Brazil, Barbados and Abu Dhabi, has raised more than £3 million.
England polo player Malcolm Borwick regularly plays with Prince Harry and Prince William in charity matches.
Prince Harry and fellow Lesotho Royal Prince Seeiso were honorary guests at the annual Royal Salute Polo Cup.
“The success of our previous five polo events has helped Sentebale make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Lesotho”, he said.
“Sentebale works to safeguard and support these kids supplying them with basic necessities we take for granted: food, shelter, attention and accessibility to schooling”.
Harry will meet Mr Tutu, who was who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for campaigning against apartheid, in Cape Town today.
He said, ‘the boys – Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge – only play polo to raise money for charity’.
