Prince Harry joins Michelle Obama to visit injured troops
Harry, along with Obama and Biden, will watch a short adaptive sports event similar to what will be part of the 2016 Invictus Games.
Per Kensington Palace, Harry will join First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden at Fort Belvoir military base, where they’ll meet with wounded servicemen and women in recovery and rehabilitation programs.
During his visit to the United States, His Royal Highness and the party will meet with troops and their families at the USO Warrior and Family Centre, which provides support for those injured or wounded as a result of their active service.
Harry will be visiting Fort Belvoir with First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden on Wednesday, October 28. Upon originally announcing the initiative in London, Harry joked that the Warrior Games, a Paralympic-style competition in the USA, was “such a good idea by the Americans that it had to be stolen”.
According to People, in the same visit Prince Harry will also attend a board meeting for the Invictus Games.
Obama recorded a video message played at last year’s Invictus Games in London that was played during the opening ceremony.
As well as sporting events with competitors from 13 nations, it also featured a star-studded closing ceremony included performances by the likes of Foo Fighters, Ellie Golding and James Blunt.
