Prince Harry joins Walking with the Wounded on United Kingdom journey
Back in March – in the same week that he announced he would be leaving the Army – Prince Harry launched the Walking With The Wounded 1,000-mile walk around Britain, and vowed that he would show his support by joining the team at a few point on their journey. “I can’t put my finger on it, but yes of course we need to do more, not just with these guys but with everybody”.
The Walk of Britain will finish on November 1 at Buckingham Palace, where one can expect the tired vets will receive a reception fit for a royal. “I think it’s something people need to take notice of”.
Many of our students have parents serving overseas, and in conflicts previously experienced by Prince Harry himself.
Prince Harry told ITV News that more needs to be done to support the mental health of wounded veterans.
During the walk, the two stars found time to play catch – and we gotta say, Harry’s form didn’t look too bad for a guy who’s never strapped on the pads. “Mental health is a sensitive subject among a lot of people but it doesn’t need to be”.
Among them are three victims of IED blasts in Afghanistan, amputees, and two who suffered traumatic brain injuries.
Today’s section has taken the team, accompanied by the Prince, through the picturesque English countryside of Shropshire near Ludlow, having now passed the half-way mark of their challenge.

But over half of women taking part in the survey said they prefer men clean shaven, with only 38 per cent of the respondents liking the bearded look.
“I love spending time with these guys”, he continued.
Walking With The Wounded assists veterans left injured or disadvantaged by service with the aim of helping them gain as much independence in their lives outside the armed forces.
Prince Harry was part of the organisation’s trek to the North Pole in 2011 and South Pole in 2013, and was patron of their Everest expedition in 2012.
