Prince rumours suggest a stripped-back sixteen-date European tour
Prince is ready to get “naked” and “pure” on stage, but it’s not what you think.
The news apparently leaked during one of the singer’s parties at his Paisley Park Studios in the U.S. over the weekend where Prince played a solo set with his piano. “For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge”, he told Cultura, who broke the news.
‘I rarely get bad reviews because this is something that’s been perfected for over 30 years. “You can see exactly what there is”. You have to try new things.
The tour – entitled “Prince Spotlight: Piano and a Microphone” – will include four dates each in Britain and Sweden, El Pais said.
The dates with 3rdeyegirl were celebrated for their highly-charged guitar-orientated histrionics so any piano-only gigs would serve as stark contrast to those of recent times. Full details are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks with Prince often revealing information about live shows at very short notice.
The tour is believed to be the first since Prince’s rise to stardom in which he is performing with such stripped-down instrumentation.
He will play Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham and London during November, followed by shows around Europe in December, according to NME.
Prince dropped his latest album HIT N RUN, exclusively via Tidal earlier this year.
He will also perform in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Switzerland, it said.
