Priyanka Chopra left Bollywood for ABC’s ‘Quantico’ – with conditions
Priyanka has been busy promoting her new show “Quantico”, which is very different from the Bollywood films she has shot over the years.
The show will narrate their adventures and experiences as they train at Quantico base in Virginia, and secrets of their past start to emerge.
At the investigation site, Alex was questioned about her other FBI trainees, and was told that one of them are suspected to be a terrorist prior to joining the academy.
The 33-year-old superstar says she is both excited and nervous over this new venture.
“I didn’t want to be this stereotype of what Indian people are usually seen as in global pop culture, you know?” said Chopra in an interview with Vanity Fair. She is now the first Indian actor to be given a lead role on a prime-time American TV show. Bollywood is my career; it’s what I do. The work ethic is the same.
In “Quantico“, Chopra’s character does not come across as a Bollywood actress.
“I think what we need is a color-blind world”, said Chopra. She has also been chosen as the face of several brands, such as Nestlé, Garnier, Nokia and Pepsi. She is a strong advocate of children’s rights. There was this one girl who hated me.
ABC took notice, and this afternoon announced that the Beyond the Tank season premiere, slated for October 6, will be pushed another week, so the second episode of Quantico can get an encore in the time slot too.
