Professional dancer groom surprises bride with wedding dance mash-up

“As a surprise for his new wife, Valerie, professional dancer Kirk and his groomsmen choreographed and performed an elaborate dance routine to a series of pop songs such as Britney Spears’ “(You Drive Me) Crazy” and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk“.

As usually happens with coordinated dances, the clip has gone viral: more than 860,000 people have watched Henning and his crew of groomsman dance the night away since the video was posted last week.

The crowd at the Richmond CenterStage venue in Virginia absolutely love it and so does the internet – the video has already clocked up three quarters of a million views.

Henning told the Richmond Times-Dispatch he kept the performance a surprise from Tellmann-Henning, who had been hoping for a groomsmen dance. Her husband Kirk Henning is also a professional dancer.

The bride, Valerie Tellmann is a Rimond Ballet ballerina.

He said: “I knew how important it was to her. So I figured, we’re going to do this or die trying”.

It ended with Walk the Moon’s “Shut up and Dance with Me”, and guests joined the bride and groom, both grinning ear-to-ear.
