Project Scorpio to get exclusive games, but only for VR
All non-VR games will play on Xbox One and Xbox Scorpio, Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft’s head of Xbox games marketing has confirmed to Engadget.
If only the machine itself wasn’t such a butt-ugly behemoth. As always, Microsoft keeps improving performance across the board.
According to Gamespot, Xbox One has been supporting backwards compatibility since November previous year, and Microsoft admitted that it’s been a step towards the right direction. The initial Xbox One was not built with VR in mind and therefore, it won’t be able to run many of those games.
For starters, the bigger hard drive is a huge boon, especially in the 2 TB model.
When Microsoft announced Project Scorpio, it explained that the new console would take advantage of not only 4K resolution, but also Virtual Reality. Sure the Xbox One is part of the family now, but it’ll likely be squeezed out like old Windows operating systems, so the new cycle won’t be that much different than the old.
Only with power button or voice (startup chime plays when console is powered on via the power button or voice; does not play when powered on with the controller).
Do I want an Xbox One or Xbox One S?
If you’ve been following along with the hardware news coming out of Xbox, you’ll know that it just released the Xbox One S, a smaller, somewhat upgraded version of the original Xbox One that launched in 2013. “And you’re right. Today 4K gaming exists on the PC, with people who spend a lot of money on super high-end PCs with a wide variety of specs…” Well.even more than it already has.
Basically, if you’re thinking about playing online with friends, factor the cost of an Xbox Live Gold subscription in when you start shopping.
“It’s one ecosystem”, said Greenberg.
