Protestors gathered outside Donald Trump rally in West Michigan
“I really believe that I could talk to them and say, ‘look, we want to make our country good, we want to bring back spirit, we want to bring back our jobs from places that have been ripping us off, ‘” Trump said to the crowd of over 7,000. Some were holding signs that called Trump a Nazi and a Fascist.
“It’s nonsense. It’s just another Hillary lie”, Trump said on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Trump, who has never held an elected office, has mostly dominated the Republican primary polls for six months.
Trump said that he thinks he can win over some of the people over who disagree with him. “Trump has my vote”.
“The American dream is dead, but I’m going to make it bigger and better and stronger than ever before”, Trump added. “I’m like a lot of people – I’m fed up with the whole damn political system”.
Many of them wore T-shirts expressing their support for Vermont Sen.
He also claimed hat Hillary Clinton is “being totally protected by a Democrat government”, and predicted that Saturday night’s Democratic debate will get a very small audience compared to Tuesday’s GOP debate.
Trump visited Grand Rapids to stir up support for his campaign in West Michigan.
“They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists”, Clinton said during the televised debate on ABC.
“I think he’s awesome”, said Michael Sellers.
Robert Smith, a UAW member who works at a Grand Rapids-area auto supplier, compared Trump’s candidacy with the bombastic Southfield attorney Geoffrey Fieger, whose 1998 Democratic campaign for governor flamed out in the general election against incumbent Republican Gov. John Engler. “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get along like with people?”
“We just went to hear him”.
“I thought she quit, I thought she gave up”.
