PS4 remote play is heading to PC
He wrote on his blog: “I know a lot of you will be disappointed by this but I’m afraid Remote Play PC will not be free and you will be required to purchase it”.
Like the official “remote play” function on PS Vita handhelds, the app lets you control a PS4 through wi-fi and stream the gameplay on a PC instead. However, Twisted has extended the capabilities to PC users with a native Windows app. That means that you’ll be able to boot up your favorite PlayStation 4 first-person shooter and blast away with a mouse and keyboard – the way it should be played in the first place.
He’s posted videos on YouTube of the service working on a PC.
The developer behind this app would like to work on this project in a full time capacity, continuing to improve the apps stability and performance while simultaneously making it available on more and more devices.
This also explained why there is a gaming stream coming from PlayStation 4 and why someone was able to put that to good use.
One of the greatest selling points of the PlayStation Vita is its ability to stream PS4 games, allowing you to continue your progress on the go so long as you’re connected to the Internet.
Mind you, the fact that Sony doesn’t support a PC client for its games may lead to Twisted encountering some form of branding problem come release.
Twisted has been working on the project for “over a year”, and will charge US$10 for the app, to support “adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms”.
The developer said that Remote Play PC won’t be a free application, but it will be sold at a modicum price, probably £6.50 ($10).
