Public interest in Obamacare surges amid Trump threat to repeal
Opponents of Obamacare have jumped on the opportunity to call for its repeal, some using the hashtag #UnaffordableCareAct. Finding a replacement is harder.
“I’ve got clients that are getting the subsidy that are complaining about the amount of the raise they have to pay”, said Westscott.
Trump and other Republicans have focused on double-digit premium increases and fewer options for those who purchase coverage through the Affordable Care Act. As far as experts can tell, if you have any gaps in your health insurance coverage – say you were temporarily unemployed or took time off to care for children or elderly parents and decided not to buy coverage – when you go back to buy coverage and you have a preexisting condition you may be rejected.
In addition to Trump’s campaign promises, many headlines about the Affordable Care Act have been negative this year.
Partpresident-electlect Donald Trump’s platform has been to repeal the law. In the month of October alone, Trump tweeted more than 18 times about Obamacare, repeatedly calling for it to be “repealed and replaced” and calling it a “disaster”.

Arizona also had to restore coverage to single adults below the poverty level whose insurance had been cut years earlier in a budget-savings move.
Another day, another argument about healthcare premiums rising. There are some insurance companies that will cover the cost of a breast pump – an item that most would argue is an actual must-have if you plan to pump at all.
Still, more than 1 million people selected insurance plans through Obamacare in the first two week of sign-ups this month, the US said in a report Wednesday.
