Pumpkin At Wisconsin Festival Named Biggest In North America
A 2,145-pound pumpkin from Illinois has recently broken the record for North America’s largest pumpkin and the world’s second-largest pumpkin, according to officials.
For comparison’s sake, a year ago the heaviest pumpkin in Minnesota weighed in at just over 1,800 pounds at the Stillwater Harvest Fest and pumpkin weigh-off.
The secret to growing supersized pumpkins?
A giant pumpkin weighing 2,145.5 pounds has crushed the North American record at a Wisconsin festival over the weekend.
Incidentally, this is not the first very big pumpkin McMullen’s grown. I didn’t do anything different than other growers do. He won last year’s contest with a 1,600-pound whopper, but that’s nothing compared to this year’s monster. “I guess this is what I’ve always dreamed of, that’s it, I guess!”
