PwC responsible for Oscar wrong envelope
The Academy finally apologized for Sunday’s humiliating Oscars snafu – but certainly isn’t taking the blame.
The director of Moonlight has revealed what he originally planned to say before the Oscars Best Picture mistake threw him off his acceptance speech.
Beatty also tried to explain the situation on stage: “I want to tell you what happened”. Horowitz had taken it upon himself to announce that it was in fact Moonlight that were the real winners.
“This is very unfortunate what happened”. Beatty opened up the envelope and in what was interpreted as an attempt to be amusing, paused and looked at Dunaway. I mean, remember previous year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist? I think we all would have loved to win Best Picture, but we are so excited for Moonlight.
The first man to enter was Gary from Chicago and his fiancee and the pair of them instantly became the internet’s favorite part of the Oscars – that is until the best picture award was announced. He “opened it, and it said ‘Emma Stone, La La Land’ on it”, Horowitz said. Who the hell even knows who is who from which movie?
But alongside the “what the hell happened?!” drama emerged another narrative – the comity and community spirit fostered by “Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins and “La La Land” producer Jordan Horowitz.
Either way, he feels “horrible, absolutely disgusting, ” said Tim Ryan, the U.S. chairman of PwC. “I did not pull a prank. It was not a prank”, Kimmel said.
But as acceptance speeches were happening at the microphone, it was soon realized Moonlight was the real victor. Kimmel saw Beatty was still holding the Best Actress card. Immediately after “La La Land” was read, Beatty can be heard saying “but it says Emma Stone”. I wanted to see the card, and Warren refused to show the card to anybody before he showed it to me.
In an interview on TV show Fox & Friends, to air today, Mr Trump said: “It just seems like the other side, whenever they’re losing badly, they always pull out the race card”. For whatever reason, they have two of each card.
“So this was confusing obviously, we thought he was being coy and cute to make everybody suffer but in reality he was perplexed by why her name was on it”.
