Pyrrhic victory for Raiders as Carr breaks leg

The Raiders, now 12-3, are right on the heels of the 13-2 Patriots for the AFC’s best record.

Washington led the Raiders’ backfield with 12 carries for 99 yards and two touchdowns, both scores coming from 22-yards out in the third quarter.

Atlanta’s Matt Ryan threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns while Matt Bryant kicked four field goals as the Falcons (10-5) beat host Carolina 33-16.

The only really good piece of news for the Jets came before the game, when Todd Bowles rejoined the team and coached from the sideline a day after a medical scare sent him to the hospital. The Oakland Raiders will be facing a desperate, frantic Indianapolis Colts team.

Andrew Luck and the Colts have been up-and-down all season and now are paying for it having to essentially win out and get help to win the AFC South and make the playoffs.

OAKLAND – After the gloom had settled over Oakland Coliseum and the Raiders’ locker room late Sunday afternoon, there stood one hopeful beacon at his stall. When I saw it and thought it was just an ankle sprain, but later realized it was way worse.

In Sunday’s game, Carr threw to Cooper only three times, tied for the fewest targets in the wide receiver’s career. “But at the same time I did my best to try to stay calm, stay focused and do my job out there”.

The combination of running backs Frank Gore and Robert Turbin proved effective, with the Colts averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
