Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings -…
Bangladesh players Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, both representing the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, had disgusting outings yesterday as their side suffered a 5-wicket defeat against the Quetta Gladiators at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium yesterday. While Sarfraz hit 51 runs off 39 deliveries, Shehzad managed 41 off 31 balls. Earlier, Grant Elliot finished with impressive figures of 4-15-4 as Quetta restricted Karachi Kings to a paltry total of 126 runs.
Ahmed Shehzad (41) was the highest scorer for Gladiators while Kevin Pietersen (26) and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (29 n.o.) chipped in with useful contribution to take their team to another victory.
In reply, Quetta Gladiators achieved the target in 16.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Shane Watson top-scored for Islamabad with 40 runs off 28 deliveries but that was just about it for the side. Zulfiqar Babar and Aizaz Cheema bagged two wickets apiece.
While the Quetta Gladiators have undoubtedly been the best side in the league in terms of consistency and performance this season, the Karachi Kings have been involved in some very thrilling games as well.
In today’s matches, Karachi Kings will take on Lahore Qalandars while Islamabad United will face Peshawar Zalmi at Sharjah.
Chasing 153 for victory, Peshawar got to off to a decent start as both the openers added 34 runs for the first wicket before Mohammad Hafeez (25) became the first man to get out. He blasted six fours and three sixes during his 58-ball knock.
Islamabad United scored 117 runs in 19.1 overs.
Misbah at the toss said he has not completely recovered from the calf injury but was ready to play for his team and disappointed to miss two matches already.
