Radiohead returns with Primavera Sound date
After years of speculation on Radiohead’s recording plans, the band appeared to have broken the news in a characteristically unorthodox way – a line buried inside a press release.
Radiohead will tour this summer in support of their as-yet-unreleased ninth studio album.
The band are already confirmed to bring their blend of boring brilliance to the Primavera Sound Festival in Spain and OpenAir St Gallen in Switzerland this summer, as well as heavy rumors that the band will headline at least one United States festival.
Primavera Sound will take place mainly in the Parc del Fòrum of Barcelona from Wednesday June 1 to Saturday June 4.
The band is rumored to be preparing their followup to The King of Limbs, released back in 2011. The music festival is set to take place in Barcelona and feature artists like Radiohead, Tame Impala, Pusha T, LCD Soundsystem and many more.
Front man Thom Yorke released his second solo album a year ago titled Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.
The band recently delivered a special Christmas day treat for fans, uploading their James Bond theme song “Spectre”, which was “rejected” for use on the film of the same name.
If you’re wondering how big Primavera Sound’s budget is, we’re guessing it could be classed as “handsome”.
