Rafael Nadal vs Milos Raonic
Nadal, searching for a revival after injuries wrecked last season, was tested by France’s Gael Monfils before winning 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to book a last-eight clash with Milos Raonic. That’s the real thing.
“You know, uhhhh, better we stop here”.
Although Murray would have been very disappointed with his exit in the Australian Open, he still went two stages further than his rival Novak Djokovic. He had chances then. He’s been playing a great tournament so far and I think over the a year ago his game has taken a big step forward with the addition to his skillset of serving and volleying.
“He had chances then and he started to serve huge”. He has played nine sets and a total of seven hours in his last two matches, defeating youngster Alexander Zverev and French veteran Gael Monfils. For me it will be important to get free points on serve.
“So it’s not an easy way to play”. I keep fighting with positive attitude. Raonic and Nadal are facing each other for the second time already in 2017.
“Who wouldn’t want to see a match up between Roger and Rafa with history on the line?” said Roddick the former world number one snd US Open victor. Hopefully for him, too. “I fought through a hard moment midway through that second set”, he said of the match in Brisbane. But at the same time is true that I have been close.
Nadal had similar memories as well as some regrets, having missed a passing shot that would have given him the second-set break in Brisbane that Raonic grabbed instead. But I hope to be ready for it’.
Ricky previews the matches and makes his predictions. So that was a little bit inconvenience.
Roddick feels the speed could be an advantage for Federer, saying: “I’m sure Roger’s not disappointed in the way the courts were playing when he got here ahead of this tournament”.

Monfils came into the match with a 12-2 losing record against Nadal and the flamboyant Frenchman started as if weighed down by the history.
“I found that tipping – that sort of turning point – that I was looking for in that match”. Obviously I think the legs wasn’t so much. When I hear “Rafa is not Rafa anymore”, I say that you need to be careful when you say it.
After a tough event so far, it was pleasing to get a victor from yesterday’s recommendation, although Roberto Bautista-Agut did his best to lose the +5.5 game handicap bet, falling 5-0 behind in a fourth set, when he only needed to take one game in the set to cover. That makes this tournament really great. The Czech saved seven set points in all but Serena got lucky on the eighth as a backhand victor deflected off the tape.
He was hitting a lot of slice backhands again today, and he had some tough misses with your normal backhand. I’ll have some time to work on that over the next few days’.
“Whether you like it or not, he has had the opportunity to see me play a lot”, he added about Carlos Moya, his former coach and now on the bench of Nadal. I don’t think that’s equivalent.
“Does he go about it the way that I would go about it if I had his talent? No”. That’s sort of where it ends’. I believe in my own ability. “It’s good to know I have a Plan B, or an Option 2”, Williams said, per Greg Garber of ESPN.com.
