Rage 2 First Gameplay Trailer Revealed, New Story Details Included
And yesterday the official Rage Twitter account tweeted: “C:DesktopVideosAnnounceTrailerMonday”. One moment the trailer is in a desert, much like the first game, and then dense and sun-choked forests are shown. Annoyingly there’s no indication as to what quarter of 2019 Rage 2 will arrive, but we’ll get our wingsticks ready regardless. This is a game, at least we hope, that demands creativity. With a trailer like that, it’s clear that this sequel is really looking to push the envelope with insane levels of action and destruction. As time goes on and Bethesda release new cinematic and gameplay videos (including a gameplay video later today!), we’ll add them here. Unlike the original, RAGE 2 isn’t a makeshift dungeon crawler.
“Rage 2” is a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter from Id Software and Avalanche Studios.
WELCOME TO THE SHOOTERVERSE – id Software’s shooter pedigree and Avalanche Studios’open world prowessis dream-team-made-real for RAGE 2. Rage 2 most definitely looks awesome, and we’re looking forward to it. Meaning that the leak of not only this game but several more by Walmart could actually be legit.
The player assumes the role of Walker, “the last Ranger of Vineland”.
The game’s setting is well over 100 years into the future after most of humanity’s been wiped out by an asteroid. There are a number of factions fighting for power.
One aspect of Rage 2 that (amazingly) hasn’t leaked is the release date. You roam the open roads as Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland, and you are dead set on destroying The Authority and ending its oppressive rule. As expected, RAGE 2 will have some sort of storyline apart from the following, however, no further information has been revealed. The sequel to the open-world shooter is coming with some major changes for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, starting with a more colorful and punk rock-inspired tone. If you see it, you can drive it.
RAGE 2 gains inspiration from both its predecessor and Mad Max and it shows. Bethesda also promises a “vast and varied landscape” that you’ll be able to “seamlessly traverse” – presumably with the use of an assortment of vehicles you’ll have at your disposal.
You might find out on June 10 though, when Bethesda has their yearly pre-E3 event.
