Rahul Gandhi on 3-day visit to Jammu, meets victims of ceasefire violation
Rahul Gandhi met the people residing in Balakote area of Poonch district who have been affected by the continuous firing by the Pakistani army since the last few weeks.
Ahead of his visit, the hashtag #RGatLOC is trending among the top trends on micro blogging site Twitter. the Rahul Gandhi supporters are praising his move while the rival faction is trolling the Gandhi scion for visiting the border. According to party sources, Rahul is also scheduled to visit Kashmir and Ladakh regions during the three-day visit.
After interacting with the affected people in Balakote, Rahul told mediapersons that the people of the area were very scared and anxious. The 45-year-old leader will meet families of the victims and interact with those affected by border tensions. There have been 51 ceasefire violations by Pakistan this month and over 245 violations this year so far. This is something one needs to learn from Rahul Gandhi.
He would also discuss the recent state of affairs in the Congress with senior leaders and workers. The families have been demanding that underground bunkers, insurance for their crops and animals, and the same amount of higher compensation for those killed or injured by firing from Pakistan, that is given to those killed by terrorists.
