Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi met the family of a farmer who committed suicide due to debt, and later offered prayers at the Takht Damdama Sahib in Punjab’s Bathinda district on Friday.
Assuring all possible help to the family of farmer Jagdev Singh Bogad (65) who committed suicide, Gandhi said his party “was all out to help those in need and root out the weeds in form of Akali-BJP combine”.
“Good times are on the anvil”, he said while announcing a relief of Rs one lakh for the family of the deceased farmer.
