Raiders ink ’16 deal to stay at Coliseum
The Oakland Raiders announced on Thursday that the team signed a one-year agreement for the 2016 season to continue playing at the O.Co Coliseum. That means that the Raiders will play the 2016 home season at the O.co Coliseum with the exception of an National Football League game in Mexico City in November.
The agreement also includes two one-year lease extension options following the 2016 season. MacNeil, the San Francisco 49ers chief financial officer for 10 years, will represent the Raiders in negotiations for a new Oakland stadium, the team said.
“It gives us an opportunity to work on a permanent facility for the Raiders here in Oakland”, Davis told reporters.
“When other cities call you and make offers, you have to look at it. You just have to: that’s just good business”. The Raiders and Houston Texans will play a Monday night game with the Raiders being the home team. “It gives us some certainty for this season as well as flexibility for the next two seasons”. He also added that the team would be paying an increased rent, though the fans wouldn’t see a rise in ticket prices, according to Scott Bair of CSN California.
The Chargers have a higher priority than the Raiders when it comes to Los Angeles. San Antonio and Las Vegas seem more like leverage than realistic options. However, if the Chargers move to L.A., then that is out. A knee injury kept him on the sideline for most of the season, so the Raiders are obviously hoping that a return to healthy and a little rebound tour are in Allen’s immediate future.
