Raiders Kickoff Time Has Changed
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid may choose to rest his starters on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Teicher. While there will nearly certainly be players with injuries who won’t be able to play, the prospect of hosting a playoff game is too much of a prize to do anything other than go all out to get it.
The Chiefs clinched a playoff spot with their December 27 win against the Cleveland Browns and moved to 10-5 on the season. It’s rather simple actually, the Chiefs can clinch if they win and either the New York Jets or Pittsburgh Steelers lose. With the Oakland Raiders headed to Arrowhead in Week 17, the Chiefs would have to feel confident about winning and having a shot at the AFC West.
Fantasy impact: Reid has “wiggle room”, as described by Teicher’s report, but no matter what the Broncos do on Monday night, the Chiefs will have seeding to gain or lose. Reid has been willing to rest starters in meaningless games in the past.
This is in part due to the fact that the Denver Broncos host the San Diego Chargers next Sunday as well, and both games need to kick off at the same time to avoid any advantage of one team over another.
