Rainbow Six Siege to get ‘realistic’ Hardcore Playlist
The HUD of Casual and Ranked playlists will be synchronised so the experience is the same in either playlist.
You can see how Casual, Ranked, and Hardcore playlists will differentiate in Ubisoft‘s handy tables.
Knowing that multiplayer games live and breathe on updates and changes to keep players interested, Ubisoft have announced that next year they’ll be introducing a Hardcore playlist for players that want to take their counter-terrorism to the next level. “Similarly, Ranked players should feel compelled to launch in Casual, either to play without “ladder anxiety” or just to try out a new strategy or Operator”.
Possibly as a means to compensate, Ubisoft plans to implement a Hardcore playlist in 2016 – but only if the player base allows it. “By having hardcore be its own playlist, we will have the liberty to have the hardcore experience that we want and that the community deserves”. With ranked playlists, killcams are completely disabled, as Ubisoft revealed that it’s more of a learning tool, something that veteran players no longer need by that point. The only key differences will be that Ranked does not have a Killcam, and Casual will not have Spawn Vote.
Currently, it’s taking player feedback into account to decide some of the settings for the hardcore playlist. Until then however, a Hardcore pre-set is being added to Custom games. With no single player mode to speak of, the lifeblood of this shooter remains with the online fanbase, and any change or tweak could certainly be disastrous if not handled with care.
