Rajon Rondo Says Relationship With George Karl ‘Not Going Too Well’
Rajon Rondo was interviewed by Cowbell Kingdom about how he’s adjusting in his early days with the Sacramento Kings.
“It’s not been going too well”, said Rondo. This offseason Rondo signed with the Sacramento Kings and George Karl was excited to have him on board but Rondo says their relationship has not gotten off to a great start, according to Cowbell Kingdom. “So far. We haven’t played any games, coach Karl hasn’t kicked me out of any practices yet, so we will see how it goes”. If the relationship isn’t good, at least we can take solace in the fact that it isn’t affecting his play. The enigmatic point guard was faraway from the Dallas Mavericks team last season due to a reported unwillingness to adapt his game to coach Rick Carlisle’s style. We aren’t midway through October and Rondo is openly discussing his arguments with his new coach.
Regardless of whether issues have already emerged between Rondo and his head coach, the Kings will be a fascinating team (and locker room) to watch this season.
Rondo didn’t seem angry in this interview; he appeared to take this in stride as part of the process. George Karl isn’t exactly the easiest coach to get along with, so none if this is out of the realm of possibility. The Kings are a combustible mix of players – to use Karl’s words – and that makes this relationship one worth watching.
