Rams can’t get offense going in 16-13 loss to Ravens
Renner would finish the preseason with 409 yards passing, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions as well as the single touchdown run.
According to MSN.com, Matt Schaub will be the Ravens next man up.
The Ravens also lost running back Justin Forsett to a broken arm yesterday, adding him to the long list that includes Smith, Suggs, first-round pick Breshad Perriman and center Jerry Zuttah out for the year with injuries. Schaub hasn’t been a fulltime starter since the 2013 season.
Tucker’s 25-yard field goal as time expired in the first half allowed the Ravens to go into intermission trailing 7-3. He had four carries for 26 yards.
Keenum was making his first start with St. Louis after replacing Nick Foles in a move coach Jeff Fisher said was created to provide a spark to the Rams’ struggling offense.
But on Sunday, no one had Keenum properly checked off the field until after the game – when the concussion was confirmed. “I’m going to give Case a good week of practice”, Fisher said.
“I think it’s probably way early and obviously speculative, but indications that I’ve been given would be that he would be back at the start of training camp”, Harbaugh said.
St. Louis went into the game without rookie starting right tackle Rob Havenstein (calf) and shifted right guard Andrew Donnel to tackle, until he departed with a knee injury that Fisher fears might be serious.
Forsett rushed for 121 yards and a 5.8-yard average in the overtime loss to the Browns, despite sitting out the goal-line situation at the end of regulation and the overtime period. However, he is showing a few signs of slowing down. It was the Ravens’ first touchdown of the game. He also lost a fumble.
The Rams are likely facing a tough decision regarding the future of Fisher as their head coach. “That was defensive penetration. We’re trying to figure that out, how it happened and to make sure it doesn’t happen again”. “I didn’t play well at all, putting the ball on the ground”.
Eight quarterbacks have reported concussions this season, but only 17 of the 108 concussions in Frontline’s database are from interior linemen – the football players who naturally bang heads the most play-to-play. With 48 receiving yards, Allen amassed 115 yards of total offense. In the end, the Ravens were finally able to take advantage. Instead, Keenum played two more snaps, eventually fumbling the ball away to Baltimore. “We’ve got to get it straightened out”. Still, this group looks promising for the future.
Baltimore trailed, 13-3, with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. His status for the Monday night game in Cleveland is uncertain. He was forced out of the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury.
The Steelers take on the Ravens for the second time this season in Baltimore on December 27. Fisher did not elaborate on the infraction.
“He finished the whole series with two torn ligaments”. This should amplify league-wide underreporting concerns, and more broadly, it ties into football’s real concern: the thousands of “sub-concussive” hits players absorb each year, hits that still contribute to the degenerative brain disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), that’s been linked to playing football. Eugene Sims got the start in his place.
-RB Todd Gurley has been held under 100 yards in each of the last three games.
